Project Manager for Facilities Operations manage multi-level projects from small maintenance to complex and high profile projects that may impact the entire University from power distribution to campus wide network support systems. This position develops and manages campus renovation and repair projects up to $300K; creates detailed work plan, schedules, establishes and manages project budget. Keeps detailed project records. Creates and executes bid documents/packages for public bid. Provides high level customer service and communication with all levels of faculty, staff and administrators.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit:
Facilities Operations is responsible for providing services relative to buildings and grounds maintenance, utilities, transportation, trash removal, central receiving, recycling, disposition of surplus property and moving and hauling. In addition Facilities Operations' expanding responsibilities include providing support services for the instruction and research programs to achieve the University's mission, goals and objectives. Maintain, improve and expand all campus buildings, campus image and educational opportunities for all people. More specifically, the functions involve energy conservation, building renovation/repair, occupational safety and health, landscape design, event planning, vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, motor pool and housekeeping services to 126 academic buildings, ten residences and seven farm buildings. Moreover, the Small Projects Unit manages in-house all campus renovation and repair projects that do not exceed $300K.

Bachelor's Degree in the Engineering discipline related to the area of assignment; or and equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require licensure by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in construction management or related field. Five (5) years of related experience. Project Management Certification. If no applicants apply who meet the required competency level and training and experience requirements, then management may consider other applicants. Salary would be determined based on competencies, equity, budget, and market considerations.
