RequirementsThe Energy Management team within Georgetown University's Planning and Facilities management department is seeking a
Control Technician who is knowledgeable on energy management and network engineering principles, and human comfort conditions, to optimize the operation of mechanical systems.The Control Technician will provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of University's automation and data acquisition systems to ensure continuous, effective temperature and humidity control in University's buildings. This position is expected to:
- Monitor and analyze data collected for accuracy and make recommendations for energy savings.
- Repair, calibrate, modify and upgrade electronics, instrumentation and programming for proper, efficient and accurate operation of the automation and data acquisition systems.
- Respond to trouble calls by investigating and addressing the problem.
The Control Technician must understand the potential impacts of incorrect pressurization (positive or negative pressure in specific spaces), improper humidity and unacceptable temperatures in diverse spaces including, but not limited to, the Research Resource Facility, labs where biological and chemical research is conducted, general educational spaces and residential spaces.

QualificationsAcademic Level: High School
Practical Experience: 5 years on maintenance of mechanical equipment and at least two years on computerized controls.
Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification: Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems and controls and networking principles.
Other Skills: Computer literacy with written and oral skills. Must be able to work independently and as part of a small or large team.
