Nokomis has executed on over $100M in advanced government R&D efforts since 2002, and we now consist of nearly 50 employees in our new Canonsburg, PA office.
Nokomis is seeking a versatile Hardware Engineering Manager to lead a team of technically adept people and solve complex engineering problems within projects. An ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage engineers/technicians of varying levels of experience and can successfully communicate instructions to help the team reach its goals. The Engineering Manager will display the skills, experience, and industry knowledge necessary to address a wide array of design challenges to ultimately enhance the company’s product offerings. The position will also answer technical questions, prepare reports on the progress of all projects, train new employees, propose budgets for projects, and interact effectively with other teams.
This is a direct hire and is a full-time, salaried position (M-F, 40 hrs/week with occasional overtime). It requires daily, on-site work at our Canonsburg, PA office. Please be aware that, due to our work with government contracts, all Nokomis employees must be US citizens.
Supervise small team consisting of engineers and technicians
Delegate duties and responsibilities to engineers
Hire and train technical team members and support staff
Coordinate tasks with other managers and staff
Collaborate with Business Development on customer engagement and proposals
Oversee program/project execution
Gauge and articulate the progress of multiple projects
Propose budgets for assigned projects
Communicate accurately with customers
Educate sales team on new products
Implement improvements to program/project management practices
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a U.S. citizen with an ability to pass a background screening
Must be able to obtain a government security clearance
Bachelor’s or a master’s degree in engineering (electrical engineering preferred)
Experience in leading a team of engineers
Experience in new product development
Proven ability to collaborate with many other teams within the organization
Meticulous attention to detail for understanding intricate systems
Sound analytical skills for evaluating information and identifying complex problems
Strong communication skills for working with staff and other management personnel
Advanced mathematical skills for developing new processes and products
Thorough organizational skills for concurrently managing staff, projects, and schedules
