The Associate Manager, Engineering Site Programmer is responsible for PLC programming and small capital project management. Programming will include both plant work and project work intended to eradicate losses, build new capabilities and/or implement new technologies. Project management work to include projects that typically range up to $250,000.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
You will report directly to the Site Engineering Manager and are primarily accountable for:
Providing process control system programming and assist in control system design for all computer-controlled machinery and processes in the manufacturing plants and for new major capital projects
Developing and leading capital projects up to $250,000 on time and within budget from concept through start-up
Providing support to the manufacturing plants to improve safety, manufacturing efficiencies, product quality, resin yield, equipment reliability and product cost
Investigates, drives, and assists on projects involving cost saving, process optimization, productivity improvements and replacing obsolete equipment related to existing processes utilizing common problem solving methodologies and engineering work processes
Estimating and analyzing the costs and benefits of various options and presenting them in a concise manner
Troubleshoot operational problems in the production plants as they relate to process control issues and field hardware
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or military experience considered in lieu of education requirement
5+ years of experience leading engineering projects, PLC programming with Allen Bradley PLC5 and ControlLogix platforms and manufacturing support in a high-speed manufacturing environment
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Experience with plastic extrusion, film making, and web handling
SAP and Microsoft Project experience
Experience in Information Technology and Operational Technology, including cyber security within manufacturing environment
Knowledge of WonderWare or other HMI programming software
Creates concepts, works with a mechanical designer to detail the concept, prototype it and implement it across multiple manufacturing lines
Balances team and individual responsibilities which fosters group commitments to goals and objectives
Strong oral and written communication skills
Problem solving and continuous improvement tools and methodologies (Lean, 4M, 5-Why, Kaizens, PDCA, Engineering Work Processes)
Displays original thinking, creativity and resourcefulness which generate innovative approaches and ideas
Ability to builds constructive and collaborative relationships to drive results through others
MS Office Applications knowledge
Full-time with operational support outside core business hours as needed to support the 24x7 manufacturing environment
