ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATOR, Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL), to advise on academic administrative matters for the MIT Supply Chain Management residential (SCMr) program, a master's degree program offered by the MIT Supply Chain Management program (SCM) with students in-residence for 9.5 months of the calendar year, and the blended (SCMb) program, a hybrid learning experience combining online education plus one semester at MIT. Will participate in key strategic and operational planning activities, acting as adviser to all SCMr and SCMb students in academic and student life matters and as a key staff member managing the onboarding of new students, advising students, and shaping students' courses of study; lead program collaboration with MIT faculty, research staff, and the SCM program manager and executive director to define appropriate content for and shape the overall curriculum; represent the SCMr and SCMb programs to the MIT registrar in managing catalog descriptions and course evaluations; and serve as the primary resource for faculty and students regarding MIT and department policies and procedures regarding curriculum, grading, teaching resources, and other academic matters. CTL conducts research, outreach, and educational activities with a number of different companies, organizations, and governments.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in engineering, management, or related field; three years' academic administration experience in an educational or administrative position or a related area; excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills; self-motivation; ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results; and proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel, and Outlook. PREFERRED: master's degree; experience planning and executing events and meetings; experience with Slate admissions portal; and proficiency with Tableau, FileMaker Pro, and web-based tools.
