JOB OPENING – ENGINEER LEVEL I, II, or SUPERVISOR
DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Engineer Level I, II, Supervisor performs the necessary duties to ensure the current and long-term adequacy of the Cooperative's electric system. The duties may include functions such as planning, design, and analysis that enhances system performance and meets the Cooperative's needs efficiently. The Engineer will contribute to both long- and short-term system planning, conduct system impact studies, and manage key projects, including the Cooperative's Outage Management System, automation systems, and critical infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the design of the facilities for reliability and electrical capacity for the existing and future electric system.
Designs overhead and underground facilities economically with an emphasis on service reliability, adequate voltage levels, and system operation.
Responsible for developing and maintaining current engineering analysis models utilizing Windmil and DEW applications.
Utilizes, develops, and applies engineering software to develop system planning documents, voltage drop studies, short-circuit analysis, arc-flash studies, and power quality investigation.
Performs studies to maintain coordination of system overcurrent protective devices and application of equipment and design standards.
Ensures the efficient operation of GVP's distribution system by correcting and maintaining power factors and phase balancing.
Develops operating, maintenance, and testing procedures for the Cooperative's metering and SCADA systems and ensures their objectives are completed as required.
Completes distributed generation interconnection studies and advises other personnel on technical interconnection details.
Assists the Distribution Design Supervisor and Service Planners with the design of line extensions and system improvement projects.
Supervises, trains, mentors, and supports assigned technical personnel.
Directs the efforts of consulting firms as needed.
Participates in project scoping, comparison of alternatives, and development of priorities for annual construction budget.
For Supervisor role; shares "Supervisor on-call" duties in rotation with other exempt employees.
SALARY RANGE:
This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on several factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Engineer I: $78,000 - $104,000
Engineer II: $94,400 - $132,000
Engineering Supervisor: $110,900 - $153,100

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Engineer I
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Engineer II
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Minimum of (5) five years of relevant experience.
Engineering Supervisor
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Minimum of (7) seven years of relevant experience
Demonstrated ability to perform advanced-level functions relevant to the position.
PE is preferred.
Must possess a valid driver's license. The Engineering Supervisor would be responsible for supervising the technical personnel related to metering and substation operations. These positions include but are not limited to the Meterman / Substation Technician and the Metering and Controls Technician.
Knowledge of the Cooperative’s policies, rates, tariffs, rules, regulations, and line extension policy.
Ability to work independently based on general and specific direction, project task assignments, and departments’ priorities. Day to day work is self-initiated and self-directed.
A willingness to pursue registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Technical Proficiency (Level II and Above):
Knowledge of RUS construction units and specifications, National Electric Safety Code, National Electric Code, and governmental standards / requirements.
Must work independently based on general and specific direction, project task assignments, and the Engineering department's priorities. Day-to-day work is self-initiated and self-directed.
Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills to professionally and effectively represent the Cooperative.
Must have the following technical proficiency.
Proficient with Milsoft Windmill, DEW or other engineering analysis software.
Proficient with overcurrent protection software, including SEL AcSELerator and Eaton Proview.
Knowledge of utility metering, SCADA, and RF AMI communications systems.
Proficient in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite and learning other software systems used by the Cooperative.
