The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) is the central coordinating and support organization for a highly regarded cluster of seven independent colleges known as The Claremont Colleges. TCCS, with about 300 staff members, provides exceptional shared services to 9,000 students, and almost 3,600 faculty and staff. TCCS staff work in both student-facing services as well as administrative and operational services. Our numerous departments are located throughout The Claremont Colleges campus in the beautiful city of Claremont, California.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Purpose of Position: Under general supervision, the Building Automation Systems Specialist facilitates the operation, management, development, and maintenance of the Building Automation Systems for The Claremont Colleges Services and the member institutions of The Claremont Colleges.
Essential Functions:
The following are the essential duties and responsibilities the incumbent must be able to perform.
1. Aid with the development and maintenance of software solutions and user interface for the Building Automation System (BAS).
2. Coordinate with the facilities departments at each member institution of The Claremont Colleges (TCC) to provide BAS services and support.
3. Monitor and operate existing building automation systems.
4. Coordinate with Facilities staff issues and/concerns with BAS notifications, alarms, and operations.
5. Create and/or modify sequences of operations (SOO), user interfaces, and controls functions (I/O).
6. Accompany HVAC technicians and electricians onsite to facilitate BAS installations, integrations, retrofits, or electrical meter data extractions
7. Setup, configure, integrate, and program controls for HVAC and lighting.
8. Setup, configure, and integrate networked electric meters and trouble shoot failed meters.
9. Work closely with technical trades, engineers, and information technology personnel to design, implement, and maintain the BAS.
10. Assist with the development solutions for third-party integration with the campus BAS.
11. Prepare and analyze monthly electrical utility billing for TCC, including electric meter auditing and preparation of feed files for the Accounting Department
12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Work Hours: The regular hours for this onsite full-time position are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Will be added to the on-call rotation to include weekends. May be required to work holiday, weekend, and/or evening hours. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or business unit.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: The following qualifications are required to perform the essential functions of this position, or the individual must be able to demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed (with or without reasonable accommodation) using other qualifications not listed below.
Education: At least three (3) years of coursework in building automation systems, energy management and building science, mathematics, computer science, computer information systems, or engineering, OR successful completion of a training program for a major building automation systems manufacturer. Preference will be given for completion of the two years of coursework and the training program.
Experience: At least three (3) years of experience working with building automation systems, controls, and/or energy management systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
a) Knowledge of proper commissioning of controls logic and input/output (I/O) signals.
b) Knowledge of graphical user interface (GUI) and human machine interface (HMI) development in proprietary or HTML/JavaScript formats.
c) Knowledge of BACnet/Modbus protocol.
d) Basic knowledge of networking and troubleshooting principles.
e) Knowledge of electro-mechanical theory.
f) Working knowledge of graphical software.
g) Ability to write HTML and JavaScript code.
h) Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, technical concepts to non-technical individuals with tact, courtesy, and respect for differing competency levels.
i) Proven self-starter with strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
j) Demonstrate openness and responsiveness to new ideas and change.
k) Demonstrate follow-through and attention to detail.
a) Quickly learn new information, tasks, and systems as needed. Ability and willingness to continually learn and improve skills, knowledge, and abilities.
l) Strong customer service skills and an ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
m) Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
n) Ability to present a neat and professional appearance and present self in a manner that reflects positively on the organization.
o) Fluent language skills in English, including the ability to write with proper grammar, spelling, and business etiquette.
Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications are preferred:
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, computer science, environmental science/sustainability, or engineering technology.
Experience working with Schneider Electric's Systems Continuum and/or EcoStruxure systems.
General knowledge of HVAC, mechanical principles, and sequence of operation (SOO).
COMPENSATION
Pay: The pay rate is $28.00- $29.00 per hour.
