Budget Title: Building Automation Systems Programmer
Duties:
The Building Automation Systems Programmer is responsible for installing, programming, testing, calibrating, operating, and performing the repair of control systems along with their related software, hardware, and equipment. These systems include energy management systems, air handler controls, building heating and cooling controls, boiler control systems, chiller control systems, domestic water systems, sanitary and storm sewer systems, and plant monitoring instruments. They will provide supervision over the Instrumentation and Controls and Ventilation Shops.

Maintain and optimize all Building Management Systems on a daily basis
Program control systems using appropriate system program language for proper sequences of operations and operating schedules. Schedule campus events for HVAC in accordance with SUNY New Paltz software (currently AdAstra).
Maintain operator work stations (OWS) including creating/updating graphics, maintaining a point database, and maintaining communications infrastructure
Maintain campus lighting controls systems such as Crestron and Watt Stopper.
Provide daily supervision of the Instrumentation and Controls Shop and the Ventilation Shop. Utilize TMA work order system to generate and track work and set up preventive maintenance tasks.
Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to control and monitoring systems and perform needed repairs.
·Assist with the startup and commissioning of all HVAC systems during new construction and renovation projects.
Read and modify where necessary appropriate system blueprints and schematics. Maintain ongoing project as-built documentation.
Maintains appropriate logs and records of systems operations. Keep complete records on all commissioning information.
Coordinate and interact with other shop supervisors to complete work orders and projects on a regular basis.
Attend departmental meetings. As directed, assist Design and Construction with project work, assisting contractors, etc.
Maintains instruments such as control valves, flow meters, dampers, temperature and pressure sensors, etc.
Ability to design and build out control cabinets
Take training courses related to field as directed, ability to train facilities operations staff
Performs other miscellaneous duties as needed.

Associates Degree in Engineering Technology, Computer Science or related field
